Brag Tags

This year I'm trying a new thing in my classroom. I use Class Dojo as a my method of behavior management.

This year I want to try and combine that with the use of Brag Tags. If you are new to Brag Tags(like myself) think of them as little badges of honor. They are little laminated tags that the students will earn and the will get to wear on Fridays. I like them because I feel like they are going to focus on character and academic strengths. If you want to see more search https://www.pinterest.com/explore/brag-tags/ for lots of good stuff!

Love this post about them!

Lunchbox Spot

I keep a small shelf outside my classroom door so that all the children have their lunchboxes in one convenient spot. The small wooden shelf that I've been using needed a little love so I broke out the paint.
I can't wait to see how it looks in the hallway!

I LOVE iMovie!

Lately I have been obsessed with the iMovie app. I am going to try creating some fun movies to into grammar topics. I also am playing around with the idea of doing a weekly news cast to send out to parents letting them know the skills and topics that we are working on. Stay tuned...

Narrowing down your Google Search...

Do you know how to filter your Google search? Enter any item into the search bar. Then, underneath the bar click on "search tool". Click on "all results" and filter it by reading level. This is a great way to filter out some of the junk and narrow down your results.

Chirp

Today I went to a web 2.0 training. The presenter introduced me to the world of Chirp. This is a free App that you can get through the app store or on Android.
What's cool about this app...
First of all it's free! I know, that's huge! Second of all is how it works. This app allows you to make posts to others in your proximity. In other words, you don't have to join a group or enter some code and you can transfer links, images, anything really. It's fun and super user friendly. Check it out!
